All girls know that we should wear SPF pretty much any time possible in order to defend our skin, stay young , beautiful and so on and so forth. I just don’t enjoy the idea of grilling my skin cells out in the open sun. So when the summer is finally here and it’s +39ºC in Paris and the hottest days in London in idontknowhowmanyyears, we want our SPF to be as high as possible.
Clinique Superdefense SPF 20
Yet on winter sales I got my hands on Clinique Superdefense SPF 20 [around 56 €] for very dry to dry combination skin. As someone with rather dry and combination skin in my T-zone, I was looking forward to trying out this product. To my mind, this moisturiser is more suitable for summer time, but as I started it back in winter I didn’t find it moisturising enough for very dry areas on my face. The texture is quite dense but sinks in the skin quickly and if you work it in, it’s a good morning skin care product for a dry/combination skin, but not wonderful. I’ve finished it today and don’t think I’ll be re-purchasing it considering the price, relying more in a tinted moisturiser.
Estée Lauder Enlighten EE Skintone Corrector SPF 30
I was parading the altenative of Sephora shop in Moscow and bumped into Estée Lauder Enlighten EE Skintone Corrector SPF 30 [around 40 €]. The promo tag said to me to buy it and I did. The EE [Even Effect] thing intrigued me. It is from the Estée Lauder line that aims to help the skin to regenerate and prevent the appearance of any kind of discolouration to even your skin tone.
I’m quite pale with redness around my nose area and marks all around after monthly disaster happenings and can’t tell I see any major improvements on that front, although, it does help to even out the skin tone when you apply it. It’s very sheer, so it won’t camouflage everything you don’t want the world too see. As recently I was avoiding the heavy foundation perfectionism, especially in the summer, I was enjoying using this product with my concealer where it was needed. And what I really love about this product is the glow it gives to my skin! It looks very natural and you can apply it under or on your foundation, to give your skin a boost of glow. And last but not least, it has an SPF 30!
VICHY Idéal Soleil SPF 50
Before going away on my first short real holiday in three years to Egypt, I went on a hunt for a high SPF for my face. All the pharmaceutical products I always buy at Bader pharmacy near the Saint-Michel metro station because I find that prices there are the cheapest. Considering, I would be needing the cream for only a week, I took the cheapest: VICHY Idéal Soleil SPF 50 for normal to dry sensitive skin [8 €]. And I found it really good, It’s not too heavy, it doesn’t smell weird and it moisturises while protecting and not breaking up my skin. Win-win.
Don’t forget to SPF yourself,
